National Kidney Services (NKS) makes it easy to estimate the value of your donation to our Charlotte charitable organization. Simply evaluate the item’s condition at the time you donate it, taking into consideration its original value at the time you purchased it. You can then use our online valuation guide to help you estimate your donation’s value. If you need further assistance determining the value of your donation for tax purposes, you can also refer to the IRS guidelines. Some donors also choose to take photos of the items they’re donating so that they will have extra documentation when claiming a tax deduction*.

NKS strives to offer our donors throughout the Charlotte area a variety of convenient ways to donate goods like clothing and housewares to our charity. Choose from any of the following donation methods:

• Standard weekday donation pickup – Call 866-408-6464 or fill out our online form to arrange a complimentary donation pickup at your home or office. Our drivers collect donations Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to dark.
• Expedited donation pickup – Request this option if you need your donations picked up in one week or less. This expedited service is ideal if you need to clear clutter to get ready for a move or a special event.
• Special Saturday donation pickup – NKS reserves this weekend pickup service for especially large donation loads, such as the items that remain unsold after yard sales, community sales, or estate sales.
• Drop off your donations – NKS has partnered with local Value Village thrift department stores so that you can drop off your used items at any of these locations, and a tax receipt can be obtained on site.
