Donate Your Unwanted Household Items to a Charity in Columbus, OH

When you donate the unwanted items that you find lying around your home, you’re helping National Kidney Services (NKS) and the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) raise awareness about chronic kidney disease. With the assistance of generous donors like you, we’re able to generate proceeds from the sale of used clothing and other goods. These funds support programs like the Love Your Kidneys® campaign, research initiatives, and KEEP® early kidney disease detection screenings.

To join us in our efforts to reduce the prevalence of chronic kidney disease in Central Ohio and throughout the nation, you can donate unwanted items like clothing you no longer wear, books you’ve already read, or old electronics that you’ve replaced with newer models. All of your contributions are tax deductible*, and our free pickup service makes it incredibly easy to contribute to this great cause.

Simply follow these steps to arrange a donation collection at your home or place of business:

• Call 614-351-2900 or sign up online. Your name and phone number will be added to our regular donation collection contact list.
• An NKS representative will contact you when we are scheduling donation collections in your area. He or she will ask if you have any items you would like to donate and review our donating procedures with you.
• On the evening before your scheduled donation pickup, place your donations outside in a clean, dry place where they will be visible from the road. Please make sure your items are packed securely in bags or boxes that are labeled with “NKS.”

Be advised that our donation pickup drivers cannot collect donations that are not properly packed and labeled, nor can they pick up items that are inside your home. If you would prefer to drop off your donations for NKS, simply bring them to any Ohio Thrift store near you.
